Disgraceful reporting of Oriental Daily

Dear all,

Once again, Oriental Daily in Hong Kong has shown ignorance in reporting about tongzhis. Today, the newspaper is reporting about the suicide attempt of a woman who is reported to have been dumped by her female lover. The report repeatedly decribes the woman's former lover as "boyfriend" in a bracket just because she has very short hair.

To further show her/his ignorance, the reporter has written a sidebar stating opinions from unnamed "experts", saying "Born homosexuals are rare, most of them are influenced by conditions later in life." The report even states that being dumped by a heterosexual lover as one of the causes of homosexuality.

Now, excuse me for getting emotional for once, this reporter is a complete headfuck.

I think it's worth dropping a little note to the editor to let them know that we're watching. Yes, it's unlikely that they're going to care, but at least we should not sit idly by while these disgraceful reports blacken our names.
